Frequently asked questions
How many months before the wedding should I buy my dress?
For a standard made to order gown, most experts suggest ordering about 8 to 10 months ahead, with the latest safe point around 7 months. Off the rack and quick ship paths can be much shorter. The calculator gives you a date based on your specific dress type.
How long do wedding dress alterations take?
Plan for roughly two to three months across two or three fittings: a first fitting about 8 to 12 weeks out, a follow-up at 4 to 6 weeks, and a final fitting in the last week or two.
I am running late. Do I still have options?
Yes. Off the rack, sample sales, quick ship designers, pre-owned gowns, rentals and simple silhouettes all stay open at short notice. The tool shows a rescue plan tailored to how much time you have.
Does this guarantee my dress will arrive on time?
No. Lead times depend on the designer, fabric, shipping and season. We give you safe windows to leave a realistic buffer, not a promised delivery date.
